helping those in need

Our MISSION
Your Nuhorizons, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization operating in Central New York. The Nuhorizons Redistribution Center Program provides a wide variety of FREE products to those in need throughout Central New York. We welcome individuals and families in need from all backgrounds, beliefs and experiences.
Redistribution Center Program description
Your Nuhorizons, Inc. (through the Nuhorizons Redistribution
Center Program) is a nonprofit organization that receives a wide assortment of donated items and provides them for
free to individuals and families in need throughout Central New York. Through our partnership with Good360
(www.good360.org) pallets of donated items are received from participating companies such as Amazon and Walmart.
We also now receive significant donated items from individuals, businesses and other community organizations.
Through our partnerships with over twenty community organizations, individuals and families in need are identified and
scheduled to visit our warehouse at 135 James Street, Canastota, NY 13032. On average a family leaves our warehouse
with a wide assortment of free items (enough to fill the back of an SUV).
2025 Program results
In the last 4 years over 3,050 individuals and families in need throughout Central New York (Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga, Oswego, Herkimer, and Otsego counties) have been provided with free essential items through our Program.
2025 saw a year where the program achieved some milestones, while also facing and addressing some challenges.
In June, our warehouse was included in the area in Canastota that suffered severe flooding requiring Nuhorizons to
temporarily halt operations. While the help of over 15 volunteers we were back open for business in only 6 weeks
looking better than ever and the volunteers limited the amount of unbudgeted funds needed for the cleanup to $3,500.
(the majority being dumpster fees to dispose of water soaked items).
In 2025, aided by two grants, Nuhorizons was able to purchase a transport vehicle that has been a great asset to the
Program providing the ability to pick up donated items, deliver donated items to clients, and arrange transportation for
clients, when possible.is a clean and stylish font favored by designers. It's easy on the eyes and a great go-to font for titles, paragraphs & more.
2026 Goals
We continue our outreach to partner with additional nonprofit community organizations who identify individuals and families in need. As explained above, having our own transport vehicle is a great program asset.
This year’s goal is to schedule and hold Community Giveback Days in urban areas withing our market including Syracuse,
Utica, Rome, Oneida and Oswego. We recently partnered with a local business who submitted a grant request that
would include funding for at least 3 Community Giveback Days this summer, where Nuhorizons will bring items to a
designated location within an urban area, and work with our nonprofit partners to make free items available to their
clients within their own community. We will also seek other direct grants to assist us in the expenses required to
operate a Community Giveback day.
Our Community Partners
Nuhorizons has developed ongoing working relationships with other area nonprofit
organizations who share our mission of helping those in need. Our partner organizations identify those in need and
assist us in coordinating visits to our warehouse. These collaborative efforts assist the Nuhorizons Redistribution Center
Program in distributing a wide variety of free items to those in need. To date, Nuhorizons has worked with the following
organizations. Staff from many of these organizations have toured our warehouse and at times accompany those in
need to our warehouse. (although not a requirement):
Liberty Resources (numerous offices)
Community Action Program for Madison County, Inc. (CAP)
Catholic Charities
Pathway Wellness Center
Rome Rescue Mission
The Center Utica
Healthy Seniors – Oneida Health
Oneida Central School District
CNY Veterans Outreach Center
Madison County Department of Health
Onondaga County Department of Children and Family Services
United Way of the Mohawk Valley
Bassett Medical Center (Otsego County) – Healthcare Network
NYS Department of Family Assistance
NYS Office of Children & Family Services
Oneida Central School District
Workforce Development Board - “Working Solutions”- Utica
ARISE
Healthy Alliance
Connected Community Schools (Canastota - Madison County)
Office of the Aging (Madison County)
Tri-County WIC- Herkimer, Madison, Oneida
New York State Department of Family Assistance
Our community nonprofit partners continuously inform us that we are filling a ‘gap’ in needed services to those in need.
For example, often an organization may help with housing needs, but do not have the discretionary funds to provide the
wide assortment of free items available at our warehouse.

LATEST NEWS
The Nuhorizons Redistribution Center Program provides an assortment of FREE essential items to individuals in need throughout Central New York.
Covid-19 has produced a recession where those living at or below the poverty line have been affected the hardest and have all they can do to supply their families with life’s essentials (shelter, food, and clothing). Further those attempting to rebuild their lives and start over (such as victims of domestic violence, individuals recovering from substance abuse, returning citizens and the homeless) are further challenged. Adding to the financial stress is higher cost of food and products as well as the higher utility bills due to spending more time at home. Individuals leaving shelters, rehab centers, half-way houses and transitional living facilities in many cases do not have (nor the funds to acquire) basic products and everyday items. According to the most recently published reports from the U.S. Census Bureau website it is estimated that 124,547 individuals are living below the poverty line representing over 14% of the residents of Onondaga, Oswego, Madison, Oneida, and Herkimer counties.
Nuhorizons has aligned itself with a national organization through which products will be acquired by Nuhorizons and shipped to our warehouse in Canastota, New York from which Nuhorizons will distribute products free of charge to those in need. To help in the direct distribution to the needy, we will align ourselves with other charitable organizations that can assist Nuhorizons in the direct distribution of free products to those in need.
Nuhorizons Executive Director Stephen Bodnar stated, “We are excited to exceed our goals for this program and to be able to help those in need throughout our community. We anticipate having a wide range of free products including clothing and footwear, household products, toys, baby items, health and care, sports, electronics, and school supplies. If any local organizations would like to help us in the free distribution to their clients, please contact the Program Distribution Coordinator Kaitlyn Carpenter at yournuhorizons@gmail.com.”

Over the Holiday season October-November-December over 600 children and family members were provided donated items. As we continue to expand with the help of our non-profit partners, we expect to serve over 1,500 individuals throughout Central New York over the past 2 years.
